Dr. Ward received her A.B. from Harvard University and M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA, a diagnostic radiology residency at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston and a pediatric radiology fellowship at Children's Hospital, Boston. She served as Chief Fellow at Children's Hospital and joined Childrens as a staff radiologist in July 2000. Her interests include newborn imaging, adolescent gynecologic imaging, abdominal imaging and dose reduction in pediatric imaging. Dr. Ward was a 2000 recipient of the Radiological Society of North America Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award, a 2001 recipient of the Society for Pediatric Radiologys Young Investigator Award, a 2002 recipient of the General Electric--Association of University Radiologists Radiology Research Academic Fellowship, a 2004 recipient of the Harvard Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship. In 2006, she became the Children's Hospital Boston Faculty Co-Chair of the Diversity and Cultural Competency Council. In 2009-2010 she was a participant in the Disparities Leadership Program of the Disparities Solutions Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. The combination of these clinical, research and leadership awards and endeavors have expanded her interests in health services research and health care disparities research to improve the health outcomes of all children.
