Family Partnerships

At Boston Children’s Hospital, we believe in partnering with our patients and families to shape the future of our organization. Our Family Partnerships Program helps make this possible. It offers families concrete ways to work with Boston Children’s leadership and staff on projects and initiatives that influence patient and family experiences before, during and after their hospital experience.

Family Partnerships play an important role within the Office of Experience. Led by the Director of Patient Experience, this program is staffed by three Family Partnerships Coordinators (FPC), all of who have current experience at Boston Children’s Hospital as patient parents and who serve as active members on the Family Advisory Council as part of their roles.

Family Partnerships Coordinators are dedicated to weaving the voices of patients and families into strategic work being done here at Boston Children’s. They also partner with staff and leadership to create and/or enhance programs and services that support the patients and families that need Boston Children’s Hospital.

Hospital-Wide Family Advisory Council: Learn more about the Family Advisory Council for more information.

Virtual Advisors Forum: Through a secure online forum, parents, caregivers and some young adult patients provide insights and feedback on timely and relevant work happening across the hospital. This forum provides those individuals who wish to lend their voice in a constructive manner but who are unable to do so in-person due to location, family or work obligations, an opportunity to do so from the comfort of their own computer or phone.

For more information about the Virtual Advisors Forum, please contact Family Partnerships Coordinator, Katie Litterer, at

Specialty Family Advisory Council (SFAC) Work Group: FPC’s created and coordinate this forum to bring representatives from the hospital's many clinics/units or diagnosis specific Family Advisory Councils (SFACs) together to share and celebrate work being done across the enterprise, as well as identify needs and answer questions.

If you are interested in finding out if a clinic/center that your child receives care at has a Specialty Family Advisory Council, contact the Social Worker associated with that team.
