Research Associate

My interest is in determining the mechanism of action of novel neutralizing nanobodies against the Ebola virus glycoprotein.

Postdoctoral Fellows

Ryan Alexander, PhD

Ryan Alexander, PhD | Email
PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Harvard Medical School

My research interests include the use of nanobodies in cancer immunotherapy, including their use as antigen recognition components in chimeric antigen receptor T cells targeting pancreatic cancer.

PhD in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium

I am interested in developing nanobody-based immunotherapeutic strategies to treat myeloproliferative neoplasms driven by mutations of the CALR gene, as well as precising the role and biodistribution of circulating CALR oncoproteins in these diseases. I am using a combination of several approaches, including nanobody production, linking of small molecules/peptides to nanobodies through endopeptidase-mediated reactions and immuno-PET.

Thibault Harmand, PhD

Thibault Harmand, PhD | Email
PhD in Organic Chemistry, ETH Zürich, Switzerland

I am currently working on the development of new chemical and enzymatic tools to prepare complex bioconjugates for medical applications.

Nicholas McCaul, PhD

Nicholas McCaul, PhD | Email
PhD in Biochemistry, Utrecht University, The Netherlands

I am studying the ways in which aspects of protein quality control such as the unfolded protein response (UPR) and ER-associated degradation (ERAD) contribute to cell homeostasis and the response to proteotoxic insult.

Novalla Pishesha, PhD

Novalla Pishesha, PhD | Email
PhD in Biological Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge

I am interested in developing protein and cell-based therapeutics to tackle autoimmunity and infectious diseases.

Xin Liu, PhD

Xin Liu, PhD | Email
PhD in Chemistry, Purdue University, Indiana

My research interests are "targeted imaging and therapeutic agents, influenza research."

Graduate Students

Lotte Wijne

PhD candidate in cell biology, University of Leiden, The Netherlands

I am interested in deciphering the complex roles of E2 enzymes, an important group of enzymes involved in ubiquitin conjugation. Ubiquitination is an important post-translational modification within the cell and plays many key roles in cellular functioning. Having the ability to study and manipulate them with nanobodies will greatly help in our understanding of these enzymes and how they contribute to health and disease.
