About Population Health Sciences

The mission of the Population Health Science Research Center is to provide exceptional support and service to investigators conducting T3/T4 research that focuses on:

  • understanding health and disease and their determinants
  • developing and testing interventions to improve or preserve the health of individuals and populations
  • evaluating the effectiveness, safety and value of interventions deployed in populations
  • translating (or scaling up) research findings to achieve improvements in clinical practice, population health, and public health

The Population Health Science Center achieves these goals by supporting all phases of population health, public health and health services research and can provide support in implementation of observational studies, comparative effectiveness evaluations, clinical studies, and cluster randomized trials in the following areas:

  • design and conduct of studies
  • development of study plans
  • project management for planning and implementation of studies
  • facilitating collaborative partnerships among key institutional programs and cores

Services include:

  • study design
  • protocol development
  • project implementation
  • case report form creation
  • recruitment and retention of research subjects
  • administration of surveys and interviews
  • study tracking
  • coordination between sites biosample collection
  • medical record abstraction
  • data entry and reports
  • study close out
